Logging!

Well, sap was not flowing today it was drab. I decided to give the Granberg Alsaka Chainsaw mill a go.  I was tackling an ash tree that I dropped last week.

The results are promising but it was very tiring work.  I started around 10:30.  It took a bit to get set up and rolling, but then it went well.

I think I should have started with a pine, spruce or cedar.  At any rate the log has been turned into

1. firewood slabs
2. a 6 3/4" by 6 1/2" by 10 foot long post 
3. 3 pieces of 1" by 8" by 10 foot long slabs.

I was all done and packed up, saws sharpened by 3:00.  That time also included a 1 hour lunch break as well.

Not bad, but my forearms are screaming right now!
