Storm Day

Boy did we have a blow on April 28th. Students were out on a Road cleanup and we had rumours of tornado activity. Several buildings were destroyed. My students were spread out over three county roads and were battling winds to 80 kmph. It was too much. I called the bus and had them brought back in. The brake lines in my truck ruptured and I had to coast to the Dodge Dealership and they were fantastic. Tom Wallace loaned me a truck so that I could get rid of the rest of the garbage and finish the work we started.

Anyway everyone ended back at school safe and tired. The power was out that night so it was a good day to test our systems. I hooked up the generator and it ran to cool the fridge and pump water for us to drink. All was ok. Rachel cooked a pizza she had prepared earlier on our BBQ and we had fresh salad from the greenhouse (which survived the wind) and a cake for dessert.
